HIV/AIDS surveillance publications available through other organisations in Australia

     

  • Communicable Diseases Intelligence

    Counts of the number of HIV and AIDS diagnoses in Australia, broken down by sex and State/Territory of diagnosis, are provided monthly in Communicable Diseases Intelligence, published by the National Centre for Disease Control in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

  • NSW Public Health Bulletin

    The NSW Public Health Bulletin, published by the NSW Health Department, North Sydney, New South Wales, is produced up to 11 times a year and regularly includes counts of cases of newly diagnosed HIV infection and AIDS broken down by Area Health Service and reporting interval.

  • The Northern Territory Disease Control Bulletin

    Counts of the number of new diagnoses of HIV infection and AIDS notified in the Northern Territory are provided in The Northern Territory Disease Control Bulletin, published by Territory Health Services in Darwin, Northern Territory.

  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases Control Branch Quarterly Surveillance Report

  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases in South Australia Epidemiologic Report

    South Australian surveillance data on new diagnoses of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmissible infections is published quarterly in the report Sexually Transmitted Diseases Control Branch Quarterly Surveillance Report and annually in Sexually Transmitted Diseases in South Australia Epidemiologic Report. The reports include detailed information on new diagnoses of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C (including incident infection), hepatitis B, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis.

  • Victorian Infectious Diseases Bulletin

  • Surveillance of Sexually Transmissible Infections in Victoria Victorian HIV/AIDS surveillance data is published quarterly in the Victorian Infectious Diseases Bulletin and annually in Surveillance of Sexually Transmissible Infections in Victoria. The Victorian Bulletin includes tabulations of the number of new diagnoses of HIV infection, AIDS and deaths following AIDS for the most recent quarter, the most recent year and cumulatively. The Bulletin also includes tabulations of new diagnoses of gonorrhoea, syphilis and chlamydia for the most recent quarter. Detailed information on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmissible infections is published in the annual report.

  • Disease WAtch

    In Western Australia, counts of new diagnoses of HIV/AIDS, gonorrhoea, chlamydia, hepatitis B and C and syphilis are reported quarterly in the publication Disease WAtch.

 

 

HIV/AIDS surveillance publications in other countries

     

  • HIV and AIDS in Canada

    The report, HIV and AIDS in Canada is produced biannually and is divided into 4 sections: HIV positive test reports in Canada, Canadian Perinatal HIV Surveillance Program, AIDS in Canada and International AIDS statistics, with a brief commentary on each section. HIV and AIDS Epi Updates on specific population subgroups are also published on an ad hoc basis.

  • HIV/AIDS Surveillance in Europe

    The European Centre for the Epidemiological Monitoring of AIDS publishes HIV/AIDS Surveillance in Europe, which includes a brief summary of the pattern of AIDS in Europe, tabulations summarising AIDS diagnoses and a Technical note. The European surveillance report was published quarterly until 1998 and has been published half-yearly in 1999.

  • AIDS/HIV Quarterly Surveillance Tables

    The Public Health Laboratory Service (PHLS) AIDS Centre and the Scottish Centre for Infection and Environmental Health publish summaries of HIV and AIDS diagnoses in the United Kingdom in the report AIDS/HIV Quarterly Surveillance Tables. Information on HIV/AIDS diagnoses, and commentary on populations of current interest, is also published monthly in Communicable Disease Report (Weekly). Information published in CDR is also available through the PHLS website.

  • HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report

    The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, USA, publishes AIDS and HIV surveillance data semiannually in HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report. The Report includes a brief commentary on the pattern of HIV (HIV reporting was carried out in 33 states in 1999) and AIDS diagnoses in America, tabulations of AIDS and HIV diagnoses and a section on Technical Notes. The year-end edition contains additional tables and graphs.

  • WHO HIV/AIDS/STI Surveillance

    Provides updates and reports on the HIV/AIDS epidemic throughout the world, plus epidemiological fact sheets on HIV/AIDS in different regions and countries.

  • WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific

    Provides data and surveillance reports on HIV/AIDS and STI epidemiology in the Western Pacific Region.
