The Annual Surveillance Report has been published each year since 1997.

viral hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections in Australia and includes
- international comparisons of AIDS incidence and HIV prevalence
- projections of the number of people living with HIV infection in Australia
- estimates of incidence and prevalence of HIV and viral hepatitides in
populations at higher and lower risk for infection
- patterns of treatment for HIV and HCV infection
- behavioural risk factors for HIV and HCV infection.

Australian AIDS Public Access Dataset
The Australian AIDS Public Access Dataset is made available to Australian and
international health professionals to facilitate analysis and interpretation of
the occurrence of AIDS in Australia.
The Australian AIDS Public Access Dataset will be updated each year with data
on AIDS cases diagnosed by 31 December of the past year which have been notified
to the National AIDS Registry by 31 March in the following year.
The 2001 Australian AIDS Public Access Dataset includes a single record for
each AIDS diagnosis. The Dataset is provided in pdf format and includes the
following information on each case:
- Case number
- Sex
- HIV exposure category
- State/Territory of AIDS notification (Because of the small annual
number of diagnoses, AIDS notifications from the Australian Capital
Territory have been grouped with New South Wales, notifications from
Tasmania have been grouped with Victoria, and notifications from the
Northern Territory have been grouped with South Australia)
- Year of AIDS diagnosis
- 5 year age group at AIDS diagnosis
- Year of entry of the notification onto the National AIDS Registry
- Year of death following AIDS
- CD4+ cell count at AIDS
- AIDS defining illness(es)
